Our Services

Well-being Practice is an allied health service founded on the lands of the Yugambeh People in the Gold Coast region.

We operate across the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia and in The Southport Psychiatry and Psychology Clinic.

We welcome Medicare, NDIS (self and plan-managed) and private referrals.

    • Holistic, occupation-based therapy to support children and young people in their daily routines and meaningful activities.

    • Focus on developing skills across the NDIS domains:
      • Self-care (e.g. dressing, toileting, hygiene)
      • Social interaction (e.g. emotional regulation, communication, play skills)
      • Self-management (e.g. executive functioning, routine building, problem-solving)
      • Mobility (e.g. body awareness, gross motor planning, classroom participation)
      • Learning (e.g. attention, sensory processing, task initiation and completion)
      • Community participation (e.g. confidence in social settings, inclusion in peer groups and activities)

    • Support for emotional regulation, behavioural challenges, and sensory processing needs.

    • Play-based and strengths-focused therapy to build confidence, resilience, and independence.

    • Education and coaching for families, educators, and support workers to promote carryover and collaboration.

    • Occupation-based therapy that supports adults to build capacity, improve daily functioning, and live in alignment with their values.

    • Evidence-informe, occupation-focused, and holistic assessments to support NDIS access, plan reviews, goal setting, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

    • Clear reports that reflect the participant’s voice and are aligned with NDIS functional domains.

    Available Assessments Include:

    • Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)/Support Needs Assessment (SNA): Evaluates a participant’s ability to perform everyday tasks across domains such as self-care, mobility, social interaction, community engagement, learning, and self-management. Includes recommendations for support needs, therapy, and assistive technology.

    • Sensory Profiles: Assessment of sensory preferences and challenges to guide emotional regulation, environment adaptation, and participation.

    • Cognitive Screening:
      • MoCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment) - for identifying areas of cognitive impairment/challenges.
      • ACLS (Allen Cognitive Level Screen) - measures functional cognition in real-life tasks.

    • Vineland-3 Adaptive Behaviour Scales: Measures communication, daily living skills, socialisation, and motor skills- ideal for NDIS access and developmental assessments.

    • WHODAS 2.0 (World Health Organisation Disability Assessment Schedule): A global measure of disability and functioning across life domains.

    • LSP-16 (Life Skills Profile-16): Assesses psychosocial functioning, particularly helpful for participants with mental health or psychosocial disability.

    • HoNOS (Health of the Nation Outcomes Scale): Captures psychological and social functioning for individuals with mental illness.

    • CANS (Care and Need Scale): Used for people aged 17+, helps identify support needs and daily living capacity.

    • PEDI-CAT: For participants aged 16 and under, assesses mobility, daily activities, social/cognitive skills, and responsibility in a developmentally appropriate way.

    • Behavioural and Psychosocial Assessments: Tailored observations and interviews to support behaviour intervention planning, emotional regulation, and environmental modifications.

    All assessments are conducted with care, clinical rigour, and in collaboration with participants, families, and support teams.

    • Empowering individuals and families to understand and use their NDIS plans effectively.

    • Help with preparing for plan reviews, goal setting, and liaising with support coordinators.

    • Clear explanations of supports, documentation, and evidence needs.

    • Advocacy letters, goal wording, and support for communication with the NDIA or providers.

    • Guidance on eligibility and application processes for additional supports, including:

      • Companion Card: For individuals with a permanent disability requiring lifelong attendant care, enabling a companion to accompany them at participating venues without additional cost.

      • Disability Support Pension (DSP): Financial assistance for those with a permanent physical, intellectual, or psychiatric condition that prevents them from working.

      • Queensland Public and Community Housing: Support with applications for social housing, including guidance on eligibility criteria related to income, residency, and housing needs.

      • Taxi Subsidy Scheme: Provides financial assistance to eligible people with disabilities to access taxi services (Only available to NDIS participants until 31 October 2025).

      • Carer Payments and Allowances: Financial support for individuals providing care to people with disabilities.

      • Aids and Equipment Subsidies: Financial assistance for purchasing necessary aids and equipment.

      • Education Supplements: Support for educational expenses for people with disabilities.

      • Home and Vehicle Modifications: Assistance with modifications to homes and vehicles to improve accessibility.

      • Legal Aid and Advocacy Services: Access to legal assistance and advocacy services for people with disabilities.

    • Collaboration with families, carers, and support networks to ensure a holistic approach to advocacy and support.

    • Gentle and choice-based movement practices that support nervous system regulation and body connection.

    • Accessible for all bodies- offered 1:1 or in small, inclusive groups.

    • Combines breathwork, mindfulness, and movement to support regulation, interoception, and relief.

    • Adapted for individuals living with chronic pain, disability, anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

    • Fun, inclusive groups that help kids, teens, and adults build confidence, connection, and practical skills- at their own pace.

    • All groups are guided by a mental health OT with experience in neurodiversity, trauma-informed care, and creative expression.

    Our group programs include:

    • Art & Emotions Group: explore feelings, friendships, and identity through art and creativity.

    • DBT Skills Group: learn real-life tools to manage big feelings, tough thoughts, and relationships.

    • Life Skills Group: practice everyday skills like cooking, budgeting, grocery shopping, routines, catching public transport, and problem-solving in a safe space.

    • Community Access Group: build confidence going out into the world- think cafés, buses, shopping, and shared adventures!

    • Prep-Ready Group: help little ones feel brave and ready to start school with play-based routines, emotional regulation, and social skills.

    • Sensory Exploration Group: discover your sensory preferences and build your own toolkit to stay calm, alert, and in control-perfect for self-advocacy and co-regulation!

    • Support to build sustainable routines around sleep, movement, connection, nutrition, and rest.

    • Integrative, holistic, and person-centred care grounded in occupational therapy and lifestyle medicine principles.

    • Education, goal setting, and coaching to improve daily quality of life and health outcomes.

    • Ideal for people looking for a change in their lifestyle, or with chronic illness, burnout, fatigue, lifestyle-related conditions, or mental health challenges.

Occupational Therapy

  • 50-60 minutes consult with a 10-15 minutes progress note included.

    Sessions can be conducted in-clinic, via telehealth, or through community visits (travel fee to be discussed), depending on client needs.

    • Individual Sessions: 60 minutes= $193.99

    • Group Therapy: 60 minutes= $96.99 per person

    Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan

    • Eligibility: Patients with a chronic medical condition managed under a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements.

    • Medicare Item Number: 10958

    • Rebate: $60.35 per session

    • Session Duration: Minimum of 20 minutes

    • Annual Limit: Up to 5 allied health services per calendar year, shared across eligible providers

    • Services provided are directly related to the client’s chronic condition and are included in their care plan.

    National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

    • Eligibility: Participants with an active NDIS plan that includes funding under Capacity Building- Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing.

    • We currently accept Self-Managed and Plan-Managed clients.

    • Annual Limit: Determined by your NDIS plan budget and goals. There are no session caps unless specified by your plan.

    COMING SOON: Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative

    • Eligibility: Patients with a diagnosed mental health disorder referred by a GP under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

    • Medicare Item Numbers: 80125, 80130, 80135, 80140

    • Rebate: $58.00 for sessions lasting 20–50 minutes; $81.90 for sessions 50 minutes or longer.

    • Annual Limit: Up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

Yoga

  • 60 minute sessions.

    Sessions can be conducted in-clinic, via telehealth, or through community visits (travel fee to be discussed), depending on client needs.

    • Individual Sessions: 60 minute= $100

    • Group Classes: 60 minutes= $30 per person

Lifestyle Medicine

  • 60 minute initial consultation, and 20-40 minutes for follow-up consultations.

    We offer tailored group sessions for workplaces, schools, and community organisations.

    • Individual Consultations: 60 minutes= $193.99, 20-40 minutes= $64.66- $129.33

    • Group Programs: Pricing varies based on the setting and group size.
